It is the night before Christmas, and Clara’s new nutcracker has come to life. After doing battle with the evil Mouse Queen, the nutcracker whisks Clara away to the Land of Sweets where wonders from many lands await her. Set to the gorgeous score by Tchaikovsky, THE NUTCRACKER BALLET is one of Quincy’s most popular holiday traditions.

Christmas candlelight tours of the former home of John Wood, Quincy’s founder and 12th governor of Illinois, will hosted by the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County. The Greek Revival home will be decorated for the holidays along with period furnishings and Wood family heirlooms. Docents will on hand and music will be performed during the tours.

TBA - Nauvoo Christmas Walk (DELETE)

The Nauvoo Christmas Walk festivities start with a Tree Lighting Ceremony and program followed by a Live Nativity program which will be performed twice in the West Theater. There will be wagon rides thru Historic Nauvoo and to the various sites where popular Christmas stories will be told. Each site will have a different story.
