It is a wonderful chance for you and your family to begin the celebration of the holiday season! The parade features floats and other entries from churches, businesses, dance troupes, civic groups, marching bands, scouts, families, sports teams, and other local organizations.

Step back in time on Covington's Historic Square the second full weekend of December each year as Covington celebrates a Victorian Christmas. All the shops are decorated in Christmas finery, and restaurants will be serving period fare. Characters from "A Christmas Carol" will be strolling around the square as well as carolers.

The majestic antebellum mansion at the Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site is decorated with fragrant, fresh cut greenery and warmly lit with antique oil lamps and oil chandeliers depicting Christmas in the Victorian era in the South. Tour guides will be dressed in period clothing and explain what life was like in the 1800s.
