Ben Cash Memorial Conservation Area is a 1,443-acre area located in the St. Francis River floodplain and contains 1,210 acres of lowland forest, 44 acres of swamp, and 195 acres of open fields. The Cash Swamp Natural Area is located on the south end of the area and includes 310 acres of high quality, remnant tupelo-cypress bottomland forest. This conservation area was acquired in part through the Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Act of 1950 and is one of the few vestigial bottomland hardwoods forest in the Bootheel region of Missouri and contains an extremely diversified floral community.
Access to the area is limited, except by boat and is subject to frequent flooding. Area frequently floods. For anglers the area offers spotted bass, catfish, crappie, buffalo, carp, and sunfish. The area features a concrete boat ramp and a graveled boat ramp that is accessible during high water periods.
Bird Watching
Birders will find that woodland warblers, waders, and waterfowl are common during migration.

Directions: The Ben Cash Memorial Conservation Area is located southwest of Kennett on Highway 412, turn west on Route A, then turn west onto County Road 516 at the MDC cantilever sign, and continue over the St. Francis River levee to the parking area. There will be no sign to the parking area. Follow the unmarked cutoff up onto Levee Road and into the area.
