COCA (Center of Creative Arts) has been providing meaningful arts experiences to the Saint Louis area since 1986. COCA has become the largest multidisciplinary arts institution and one of the most valuable community assets in the Saint Louis metropolitan area. COCA is housed in the building once occupied by the B'nai Amoona Congregation. This former synagogue was designed in 1950 by the internationally recognized architect Eric Mendelsohn. The synagogue is on the National Register of Historic Places and was built by Saint Louis master builder I. E. Millstone, a legend in the construction industry.  The building was expanded in 2005 using a design by Trivers Associates that renovated and upgraded the facilities and added an 11,000 square foot addition to meet COCA’s growing needs while keeping the new addition in line with Mendelsohn’s design. COCA's multidisciplinary and multicultural arts programs include performances in its 400-seat theatre. The organization also provides educational classes, camps, and workshops serving individuals aged 6 months through adult. COCA supports artists' residencies and exhibits contemporary art in its Millstone Gallery at COCA. Many of the pieces in the gallery can be purchased.
