The Gallery at the Regional Arts Commission is committed to fostering, encouraging and promoting visual art in Saint Louis by exhibiting the work of local artists and providing opportunities for local curators. The Gallery is located on the first floor of the Cultural Resource Center in the Delmar Loop area. The gallery is a 35’ x 25’ white box space, with one wall of 12’ floor to ceiling glass doors that open directly onto the street level, allowing exhibits to be in full view of passersby. The Gallery has hosted exhibitions since its opening in October of 2003, each featuring the work of established or emerging local artists. By special invitation, guest curators living in St. Louis compose group exhibitions, each featuring works that explore a specific discourse. The RAC accepts proposals for exhibitions on a rolling basis. The Regional Arts Commission also created the Metro Art Exchange in collaboration with local arts organizations to give regional artists the opportunity to exhibit their work on the second floor of the RAC building. Much of the art work displayed at the Regional Arts Commission is for sale.
